FAQ
What is ME™ brand and why should you learn about our technology ?
ME™ is a PMU machine brand created and fully developed by Paulina Osinkowska, who spent four years obsessively learning everything about PMU machines - not only from the practical side.
To be able to explain to engineers exactly what she wanted, she had to learn the language of engineering and learn how to translate the language of artists into something engineers could understand and turn into an actual machine.
She dedicated herself completely to this project, stepping back from her full-time educational business to focus on the machine she had envisioned. She didn’t give up even when people told her that what she wanted was impossible, or suggested using solutions that were already known and commonly used in PMU machines.
Instead, she worked together with engineers with one goal: to build a machine around the way permanent makeup artists actually work.
Instead of taking an existing machine and simply changing its design, the focus was on what happens inside — the motor, stroke, mechanics, electronics, software and the way the needle movement is controlled.
Paulina feels the dot. And even if that sounds insane, that’s exactly how it is. She can take a machine, make one scratch and feel what is happening inside the machine and how that translates into the skin. Four years of obsession with development have now translated into two years of market-proven work with ME™.
This is where Motion Control™ comes in. It allows us to create different working characteristics within the machine and gives us much more control over how it performs during pigmentation.
Why should you learn about it? Because understanding your machine changes the way you work with it. Stroke is not power, volts are not speed, and two machines running at what looks like the same setting can behave completely differently.
The more you understand what is happening between your hand, the machine, the needle and the skin, the easier it becomes to make conscious decisions instead of simply copying someone else’s settings.
ME™ is not just another PMU pen. The technology behind it was developed to give PMU artists more control over their work - and we want you to understand how to use that control.
Can ME™ actually make a difference in my work?
Can a machine improve your work? Absolutely - but it won’t replace your skills.
What we hear again and again from ME™ artists is that it feels like the machine is doing part of the work for them. It responds differently, feels controlled and allows them to focus more on their movement, technique and the result they want to achieve.
Today, more than 3,000 artists are working with ME™, and after two years on the market, we have seen how the machine has transformed the work of many of them - including experienced artists who already had great technique before switching to ME™.
A machine will never make you a great artist on its own. Your knowledge, hand movement and understanding of the skin still matter. But the right tool can make a huge difference in how you perform your technique.
That is exactly what ME™ was created for - not to do the job instead of you, but to give you a machine that works with you rather than against you.
What exactly does Motion Control change?
Motion Control™ changes the way the machine behaves. It changes how the motor responds and how the needle movement is delivered during pigmentation. By controlling the motor through our electronics and software, we can create different working characteristics without simply changing the stroke or speed.
That’s why two ME™ machines with the same 3.5 mm stroke and the same Hz can feel and work differently when they use different Motion Control™ configurations.
Powder, Satin, Hairstroke and Lips are not just names or preset speeds. Each configuration has been developed to give the machine a different working characteristic and translate your hand movement into the skin differently.
This is what allows us to go beyond choosing a machine based only on stroke length and speed - and actually control how the machine works.
Can one ME™ machine be enough for all PMU procedures?
Yes. One ME™ machine can be enough for all PMU procedures. Each Motion Control™ configuration was developed with a particular working characteristic in mind, but that doesn’t mean you are limited to one treatment area.
For example, you can use your ME™ for brows, lips and other PMU procedures. The difference between configurations is in how the machine behaves and how it delivers the needle movement - not in restricting what you can use it for.
If you want one machine to cover everything, we generally recommend 3.5 mm Powder Motion Control™ as our most universal configuration.
Many artists choose to add another ME™ later because they want a more specific working experience or finish - for example 2.8 mm Lips Motion Control™ for lips, 3.5 mm Satin for a softer diffused effect, or 3.5 mm Hairstroke for hairstrokes.
Why are artists buying more than one ME™ configuration?
Because once you understand the difference between Motion Control™ configurations, you start choosing the machine for the exact working experience and result you want to achieve. One ME™ can absolutely be used for different PMU procedures. But different Motion Control™ configurations and strokes change how the machine behaves, how it interacts with the skin and how the pigment is implanted.
It’s a little like having different brushes in your kit. You could paint with one, but once you understand what each one gives you, you naturally start reaching for a specific one for a specific job. Some artists want Powder for its balanced, universal performance, Satin for a softer, more diffused finish, Lips for its characteristic on lip tissue, or Hairstroke for more direct, controlled work.
That’s why many artists who start with one ME™ eventually add another configuration - not because the first one can’t do the job, but because they want more choice and control over how they do it.
Is it a soft or a hard-hitting machine?
Most artists describe it as soft, but very dynamic.
It was designed to work with proper lip technique: good skin stretch, light pressure and working with the tip of the needle. If you press hard and work aggressively, the machine may feel too soft. That's because the Motion Control system wasn't designed to reward force—it was designed to work efficiently with controlled implantation.
Also remember that you can easily change the sensory feel of the machine by changing the needle. If you prefer a tighter, firmer feel, simply choose a needle that provides more resistance. If you like a softer feel, choose one with less resistance. The same machine can feel surprisingly different depending on the cartridge you use.
Can I use the same settings I use on my current machine?
We don’t recommend transferring your current machine settings directly to ME™.
ME™ uses a brushless motor and Motion Control™, so the way the machine responds and behaves during pigmentation may feel different from what you are used to.
Think about it like switching to a different car. You already know how to drive, but the steering, acceleration and response feel different at first. You simply need a little time to get used to it.
One thing we can tell you for sure: no matter which machine you are coming from, switching to ME™ is an upgrade. The technology, motor and Motion Control™ give you a different level of control over how the machine works.
You don’t need to relearn your technique, but give yourself time to understand how ME™ responds to your hand speed, movement length, needle choice and skin.
And don’t try to directly convert volts into Hz. Settings cannot be transferred 1:1 between different machines or brands. Start on latex, test different speeds and find what works best with your technique.
Which cartridge brands are compatible?
The machine is compatible with most standard universal PMU cartridges available on the market.
How long does the battery last?
A fully charged battery typically provides around 5–6 hours of continuous work, depending on your working speed and configuration. The batteries are also interchangeable, so you can keep working by simply replacing it.
Is ME™ comfortable to hold and work with?
Not at all! We know ME™ can look a little chunky in photos... but don’t judge it too quickly. 😉
ME™ weighs only around 147 g and is just 115 mm long. Its short, well-balanced body makes it feel comfortable and stable in your hand without unnecessary weight at the top.
The standard grip is 25 mm, and if you prefer something slimmer, ME™ is also available with our 19 mm Slim Grip.
This is actually something we hear very often from artists when they hold ME™ for the first time: “Oh, I thought it would be much bigger and heavier!”
It may look substantial in photos, but once you pick it up and start working with it, the experience is completely different.

Can I convert my usual voltage setting into Hz?
No- and you shouldn't try to. If you have always worked at 6 V, 7 V or 8 V on another machine, there is no formula that will tell you what this equals in Hz on ME™. 7 V does not equal 50 Hz, 60 Hz ...

Volts vs Hz in PMU Machines: What Machine Speed Actually Means
There is one question I hear at almost every PMU training, workshop and demonstration: “What speed are you working at?” For years, the answer has usually sounded something like: “5 volts.”“7 volts....
